The big-eared, solitary SAND CAT (Felis margarita), weighing only 1.4 - 3.4 kg (3 –7.5 lbs), inhabits sandy desert areas in arid countries of northern Africa, Saudi Arabia, Central Asia and Pakistan. Her usual fare of nocturnal rodents, desert snakes, large spiders and insects provides all the water her body needs.
