This painting focuses on the sinuous snowflake moray, a species I chose to include in Beyond Eden to reflect my time as a kama'aina of Hawai'i. I was drawn to its bold, intricate patterns and the way its forms curve and twist.
The painting developed through swirling brushstrokes and vibrant color, allowing movement and rhythm to take precedence over literal depiction.
