This painting is inspired by the Mangshan pit viper, and endangered species from China. Captivated, I spent several hours studying its intricate and complex designs.
As the painting evolved, personal influences crept in and emerged across the surface: symbols, shapes, and figures - some obvious, some subtle. Cats, chickens, dolphins, and hearts appeared alongside abstract patterns, creating a layered composition that reflects both attention to the animal and playful exploration.
